About the
Audiologist
Dr. Laura O. Robertson, Au.D, is
dedicated to providing quality, professional service with special
attention to your personal needs. She has the knowledge and experience
to supply the best hearing health care program for you.
Dr. Robertson has lived in New
Hampshire most of her life. She attended the University of New
Hampshire to study the field of Speech and Hearing Disorders. When she
graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree, she received an award
for academic excellence. Immediately after graduation, Dr. Robertson
moved to Connecticut to obtain a Master of Arts degree in Audiology
from the University of Connecticut at Storrs. In May of 2002, Dr.
Robertson was awarded her Doctorate of Audiology by the Pennsylvania
College of Optometery, School of Audiology. She also received Board
Certification in Audiology by the American Board of Audiology in May
2003. Further, she received training in evaluation and treatment of
balance disorders from the American Institute of Balance and Richard
Gans, Ph.D.
Dr. Robertson gained valuable
experience at the American School for the Deaf, the Hartford Hospital,
and the Hampden Hearing Center East. Before returning home to New
Hampshire in 1992, Dr. Robertson was employed with E.N.T. Associates of
Westerly, Ltd., and was on the staff at the Westerly Hospital in
Westerly, Rhode Island.
Dr. Robertson practiced with James
P. Stark, MD, a local ear specialist physician for nearly five years
before opening an independent office in Laconia, NH.
Dr. Robertson is licensed as an
Audiologist both in Rhode Island and in New Hampshire. She is a member
of several professional associations. In particular, she was nominated
by the governor to the New Hampshire Board of Hearing Care Providers.
Since 1998 she has been involved with the New Hampshire task force to
implement a statewide infant hearing screening program. Dr. Robertson
is now a past president of the New Hampshire Association of Audiology
and a past board member of the Laconia Kiwanis Club and Community
Health & Hospice.
Dr. Robertson frequently attends
continuing education programs which provide her with current
information about new developments in hearing health care.
